PUBLIC SERVICES

General Information

The American Services Section of the American Embassy is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am to 11:00am for routine consular services, except for consular Report of Births Abroad. Consular Report of Births Abroad are done only on Wednesdays, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Please come early for faster service.The Consular Section is open for federal benefits services from 11:30am to 2:00pm. No appointments are necessary. Passport renewals for U.S. citizens over the age of 26, who have already had a 10-year passport which is valid, or expired within 5 years, may be mailed to the embassy using (Libanpost).

Phone inquiries are welcome Monday - Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at 961-4-542600 or 961-4-543600. In the event of a genuine emergency, American citizens may phone the Embassy at any time at 961-4-543600. Our fax number is 961-4-544209.

American Citizens visiting and residing in Lebanon are urged to read the Travel Warning and Consular Information Sheet for Lebanon, and to register at the American Embassy at their earliest convenience.
