Father Tarabay and Sister Rosemarie Signing of MOU Between NDU and Madonna University

Madonna University (Livonia,
Michigan) and Notre Dame University
(Zouk Mikayel, Lebanon) signed a contract formalizing their commitments
to carry out a Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural
Affairs Educational Partnership Program, at Notre Dame University,
on December 15, 2004. The delegation from Madonna
University included Sister Rosemarie, President, Dr. Ernie Nolan,
Vice President, and Dr. Jonathan Swift, Director of International
Programs. The president of Notre
Dame Father Boutros Tarabay and representatives from the university
hosted the American delegation
The Department of State awarded a $126,520 grant to Madonna
University and Notre Dame University
to establish a university-to-university partnership involving curriculum
and faculty exchange, technology and research exchange, development
of a joint degree program, and faculty professional development.
The grant will support development of programs of Middle East Studies
at Madonna University and American
Studies at Notre Dame University.
